The primary responsibilities of the Street & Sanitation Department are

• Maintenance and repair of all city streets and right-of-ways

• Collection and disposal of garbage and brush within the city limits

Residential garbage collection

Residential garbage is collected on a regular schedule Monday through Thursday. The cost to residential customers is $15.00 monthly and is collected along with the customer's monthly utility bill.

Holiday Schedule for Garbage Collection for 2006

Unless otherwise noted, garbage will run as scheduled.

July4 Holiday:  Tuesday garbage will run on Monday, July 3; Wednesday and Thursday garbage will run as scheduled.

Thanksgiving:  Garbage will run one day early.

Special trash collection

The Street & Sanitation department offers collection of inert items such as appliances, furniture, and brush/limbs to residential customers at no additional cost.  These items will be collected Monday through Thursday.

Disposal of deceased animals on city streets

Call the Street & Sanitation office at 386-5674, during regular business hours, to request disposal.

Sewer problems

The Street & Sanitation department should be called.
