Overview
The primary responsibilities of the Street &
Sanitation Department are
-
Maintenance and repair of all city streets
and right-of-ways
-
Collection and disposal of garbage and brush
within the city limits
-
Maintaining the sewer collection system.
Policies and Procedures
Residential garbage collection
Residential garbage is collected on a regular
schedule Tuesday through Thursday. The cost to
residential customers is $16.00 monthly and is
collected along with the customer's monthly
utility bill.
Holiday Schedule for Garbage Collection for
2012
All
garbage will be collected as scheduled, with the
exception of the following:
July 4th
-
Tuesday and Wednesday’s route will run one day
early on Monday and Tuesday and Thursday’s route
will run as scheduled.
Thanksgiving Week -
Garbage will run one day early, Monday, Tuesday,
and Wednesday.
Christmas Week -
Garbage will run one day late.
New Years Week (2013) – Garbage will
run one day late.
Business garbage collection
Handled by the sanitation Department
Special trash collection
T he Street & Sanitation department offers
collection of inert items such as appliances,
furniture, and brush/limbs to residential
customers at no additional cost. These items
will be collected Tuesday through Friday. Items
such as freezers and refrigerators should have
doors removed or be strapped shut for safety.
*Leaves and grass clippings will be picked up
quicker when bagged.
Please do not place trash or clippings in the
gutters.
Disposal of deceased animals on city streets
Call the Street & Sanitation office at 386-5674,
during regular business hours, to request
disposal.
Sewer problems
The Street & Sanitation
department should be called before a contractor.
