Tuscumbia - small town America at it's best.  It has been thought that small town America is dying amid the onslaught of urban and suburban sprawl.  According to a study by A. E. Luloff, professor of rural sociology and agricultural economics at Penn State University, if a community cares about each other it persists in the face of enormous social, demographic, and economic changes.  This is Tuscumbia.

A city proud of its inheritance, Tuscumbia, Alabama is alive and getting better all the time.  The city is receiving a facelift, thanks in part to the generosity of one of its own, Harvey Robbins.  Through his bighearted spirit and donations, this city not only is alive, but has made it to primetime TV.  The Today Show interviewed Mr. Robbins and several citizens of the city last spring in a documentary on the revitalization of the city.

Walk the streets of Tuscumbia and you will see the beauty and feel the pride of the residents!  Stop by our bookstore and have some music and coffee while you are entrenched in one of the thousands of books on display.  Need art?  Look no further than our own art gallery or shop in one of our many specialty stores for just the right souvenir or possibly the latest trend in fashion.  Enjoy dinner in one of our many restaurants - we have it all from fast food to fine elegant dining.

Join us for the yearly festival that celebrates our own Helen Keller.  Visit her home, watch the play and get captured by the spirit of a remarkable and courageous woman who opened the door for the blind.  Stroll through Spring Park and take a walk down memory lane while enjoying the water fountain show, the ducks, trout fishing, and soon the train ride that takes you around the park and over the water.  Don't forget our Music Hall of Fame where Alabamians have contributed to make the music industry what it is today - from performance to songwriting and from management to publishing.  While you are here, don't miss the opportunity to visit the Tuscumbia Depot/Museum.  The depot was constructed in 1888 on site of the first railroad west of the Allegheny Mountains.

Want more????  Come and visit.............this is Tuscumbia.
